Four students from Kerala receive honours at HBKU graduation event 12 May 2018 - 9:25 Four students from Kerala receive honours at HBKU graduation event The students who graduated from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), with Centre for Indian Community (CIC) President, K C Abdul Lathif (right) and Al Jamia Al Islamia Qatar Alumni office-bearers. The Peninsula Doha: Four Students from the southern Indian state of Kerala received the honours during the graduation ceremony of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), at the Qatar National Convention Center recently. This years graduation ceremony featured Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as keynote speaker. The formal convocation was held in the presence of H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice-Chairperson and CEO, Qatar Foundation, and Chairperson of the board of trustees of Hamad Bin Khalifa University. Nijas Asainar, Aslam Taufiq, Shafiq Ali and Yahya Sadiq were among international students who received the graduation. Najaz Asainar and Aslam Taufeeq after graduating from Santhapuram Al Jamia Al Islamia, received masters degree in Islamic Studies while Shafiq Ali another Al Jamia graduate, obtained masters degree in Islamic Finance. Yaya Sadiq, a former student at the Ilahiya College Tirurkad in Kerala, received masters in Islamic Studies. Centre for Indian Community (CIC) President K C Abdul Lathif and Al Jamia Al Islamia Qatar Alumni office-bearers were present on the occasion.
