World renowned Islamic Scholar Dr. Jasser Auda will take part in Usooludheen Campaign GLOBAL ISLAMIC POLITICS, via Video Conferencing. He is currently an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Qatar Foundation. He worked as a Founding Director of Al-Maqasid Research Center in London, and has lectured on Islamic law, especially its 'maqasid', in dozens of academic institutes around the world. He authored and published several books and dozens of articles in Arabic and English. His latest books include: Words of Wisdom: a Journey with Ibn Atta-Ellah in Light of the Qur’an, the Sunna, and the Universal laws; and Maqasid al-Shari’ah as Philosophy of Islamic law: a System’s Approach, published by IIIT. He translated several works of key contemporary scholars from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic, including Rowan Williams' Islam, Christianity and Pluralism (from English to Arabic) and Mohammad al-Ghazali’s Muslim Women between Backward Traditions and Modern Innovations (from Arabic to English). Dr. Auda wrote a PhD thesis on the Philosophy of Islamic Law at the University of Wales, UK, and a PhD on Systems Analysis at the University of Waterloo, Canada.  . www.jasserauda.net
